Join us in Brunswick Heads for a morning or afternoon session, or for the whole day, as we delve in to the lovely art of henna.
Mix & Make: first learn to mix your own natural henna paste with an age-old recipe and premium Jamila henna powder. Then make your henna tools with easy and recycled supplies. By the end you’ll have your own ceramic mixing-bowl to take home full of beautiful, fresh-mixed henna paste, an easy recipe and tools ready to henna your friends and family! 10:30am – 1pm. Design & Draw: approach the design process full of inspiration, utilising your daily life, your favourite aesthetic and personal symbolism. Fundamentals of traditional henna designs and their elements will also be explored. We’ll first draw a series of shapes to practice application control and then move towards building our own design/s or following from a supplied selection, drawing on paper, ourselves or each other. 2 – 4:30pm.
